Lulu Tucker tells us about her first few months at Attain.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I joined Attain as a Manager in May 2023. Before joining Attain, I worked as a Strategy and Business Development Manager at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where I produced briefings and presentations for the Chief Executive, developed the Trust’s core strategies, and led the Trust’s tendering process. I am an alumnus of the Policy and Strategy stream of the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme and have a background in cancer research. Outside of work, I enjoy trail running, cycling, and hiking, and I own a retired greyhound called Ricky.

How have your first 30 days been at Attain?

My first 30 days has been a well-structured, comprehensive and welcoming induction process. I have met many of my new colleagues, heard about the range of projects currently underway, and understood more about Attain as an organisation. I have also started working on my first project, which has given me plenty of opportunities to get involved in new, exciting and challenging work. Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and supportive, and I can see firsthand the positive impact of Attain’s values in creating a brilliant workplace culture.

What attracted you to Attain?

I was attracted to Attain because of its strong set of values, which were evident throughout the application and interview process. They have positive, long-standing relationships with many of their clients, which reflects their approach to working collaboratively, and their commitment to delivering tangible impacts that make a real difference to patient care.

What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?

The best thing about Attain is its people. My new colleagues have an incredible breadth and depth of knowledge and experience, and there is so much I can learn from them. Attain also has several communities and workstreams which provide an opportunity for networking, skill development, and exploring emerging trends and practices. I have already joined the Clinical Care and Operational Community, and the Social Value workstream to share my experience from previous roles and continue to develop professionally.

What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?

I am looking forward to working closely with NHS partners on a diverse portfolio of projects to deliver the best patient care, at the right time and in the right place. I hope to develop personally and professionally by being involved in new and exciting projects as part of a collaborative and effective team.
