Examples of our mental health work include: assessing current needs and services; horizon scanning emerging policy and best practice; map and understand the provider landscape; model capacity and future demand for the full range of services; and building governance and contractual arrangements for delivery. This enabled us to make recommendations for locally-based pathway redesigns that focused on the health and well-being of the local populations, transform local service provision and reduce the reliance on out of area service provision. We have also delivered services to commissioners and providers to support them understand their provider market, create informed strategies to stimulate collaboration and competition, set realistic goals and implemented projects that bring strategies to life.
Our proven ability to make a substantial impact in terms of improving outcomes, service quality, and has resulted in saving the NHS over £15 million. These projects have delivered tangible outcomes for our clients, including: more effective pathways which reduces length of stay and readmission rates for patients; care closer to home for patients; improved service quality for patients; improved relationships with providers; improved evidence of clinical decision making; reduced costs through improving measurement of outcomes for patients and streamlining process.

“We used Attain to produce our five year Mental Health Strategy: setting out how we will transform mental health services for adults so that they are an integral part our approach to improving overall health and wellbeing for Bassetlaw people. We were impressed by how the Attain team worked alongside our own people, service users and partners to produce a dynamic outcomes and delivery framework, as well as outline specifications and actions for the future.”
Phil Mettam, Chief Officer, NHS Bassetlaw Clinical Commissioning Group
