Chris Walker


Chris Walker photoChris, a Director of Attain, has extensive commercial experience both in the private and public sectors. Chris is a proactive, forward thinking individual, highly motivated to achieve outstanding results. He has a track record of delivering successful outcomes in challenging environments.

Since joining Attain at its inception at the beginning of 2011, Chris has worked on a number of assignments working with commissioners and providers to help to support the delivery of improved health and wellbeing. Chris has also worked on a variety of system wide projects and is currently leading the Attain team supporting the development of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP).

Before joining Attain Chris worked for the NHS where his last role was Director of Programmes for the Yorkshire & Humber Commercial Support Unit. Chris established the organisation with £1.9m of funding from the DH, the organisation’s main priority was to drive collaborative working across provider and commissioners to improve quality and deliver financial efficiencies. Prior to this, Chris was an Assistant Director of Procurement with the NHS re:source Collaborative Procurement Hub and was jointly responsible for the full strategic procurement of mental health and learning disability low and medium secure services. Whilst with NHS re:source Chris received national recognition winning the Independent Healthcare Award for Best Public/Private Partnership in delivery of a new step down model for rehabilitation services for mental health patients.

Chris has also spent 19 years in the pharmaceutical sector working for ICI, Ciba Geigy and Novartis, the last 10 years of which were working within the commercial and procurement team with Novartis Consumer Health. In 2004 Chris was named Novartis AG procurement professional of the year.
