Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am an experienced Lean Six Sigma practitioner from Bedford. For the past 7 years I have been involved in delivering improvement and large transformational activity for the NHS in the acute setting and also for a private contractor operating on behalf of the NHS. I acquired my skills in continuous improvement and project management whilst serving in the Royal Air Force as an avionics technician. When I joined the NHS, I was amazed at how much of my background in aviation and continuous improvement could lend itself so well to making such a positive impact to the healthcare environment. I have always believed in the NHS. We have all been touched by it and I want to be a part of making a difference for patients’ health and wellbeing.
How have your first 30 days been at Attain?
These past 30 days have been fantastic. The induction we received was great – very organised. During my first week I was introduced to colleagues within the team and I had a list of activities to help settle me into the company. I was given a buddy who has been there to answer any questions I have had. My line manager, buddy and everyone I have met have been so supportive – I couldn’t have asked for more. Attain have taken the time to understand me and my specific skill set so that I am able to deliver the greatest value to our clients. I have been involving myself supporting colleagues which has given me a greater opportunity to meet people and help me settle into life at Attain.
What attracted you to Attain?
The website hooked me in the first instance. I was very impressed with what I read on the site. All the testimonials and case studies highlighted to me the impact Attain has had/is having in supporting the NHS to improve care in very difficult and changing times. Throughout the whole recruitment process I was impressed with Attain’s knowledge and professionalism. But most of all, it was Attain’s values that set them apart. Everyone shares the values and they form an integral part of how Attain operates to support positive change.
What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?
The best thing about Attain is the people that work here. The depth of knowledge across the different teams and the willingness to share knowledge, and support one-another to benefit our clients’ needs is incredible. I am excited at the prospect of working in this environment very much.
What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?
I hope that my time with Attain will help me to grow and develop so that I can offer even greater expertise and knowledge to clients and make a positive impact to the health and wellbeing of our communities.
