“Attain are delighted to announce that, in conjunction with NHS Luton Clinical Commissioning Group, we have been shortlisted for the CIPS Best Public Procurement Award 2015. This provides real recognition of the outcomes delivered jointly for the population of Luton, through the application of a rigorous competitive dialogue process.”
Chris Walker, Director, Attain
This project involved the re-commissioning of the community and mental health services contracts worth in excess of £300m for the population of Luton. To improve patients’ experience and reduce service duplications, commissioners wanted to achieve more integrated care with clinicians and staff working cohesively.
This project demonstrated how procurement can be the enabler for commissioners to deliver tangible service improvements. It demonstrated good practice across the entire commissioning cycle with early procurement engagement and subsequent benefits. The procurement allowed the CCG to explore in detail the trade-off between costs of services and desired patient outcomes whilst ensuring proposals for service delivery were financially sustainable.
