Adam Jogee on his first 30 days at Attain

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I have been working in healthcare for the past ten years. My career journey has taken me from Huddersfield to London, Sydney and back again and I’ve worked across several NHS and management consulting roles. Having moved back to the UK from Sydney in summer this year, I knew I wanted to continue to work in the healthcare sector.

I’ve been very lucky to have had some great experiences over the last few years working in Australia. I led the implementation of a state-wide integrated care strategy, helped with Aboriginal healthcare reform, developed strategies for the Allied Health workforces in New South Wales, ran an evaluation of guardianship processes for the Department of Premier and Cabinet and developed an outcomes-based commissioning framework for NGO’s.

Prior to living in Australia, I worked in various strategy roles at NHS England and within CCGs in London and West Yorkshire. I’ve always been dedicated to supporting real and lasting change across the healthcare systems in which I have worked and I’m excited about being able to continue that journey with Attain.

When not working, I’m a music geek that enjoys playing guitar and getting out and about to gigs in London. I’m really enjoying being able to watch football at a reasonable hour again now back on UK soil and it’s been great sampling new places to eat in London.

How have your first 30 days been at Attain?

My first 30 days at Attain have been fantastic. I’ve been positively overwhelmed about how warm, friendly and welcoming all my new colleagues are! Before formally starting in the role I was invited to a team meeting which gave me an opportunity to say hello to people from across the business and hear about some of the excellent work we’ve been doing over the last year.

From day one the induction process has been thorough and well planned to help me get settled in quickly and hit the ground running. I also had the opportunity to shadow two Attain project teams working in different parts of the country, to get a flavour of how we work and partner with our clients.

No two days are the same at Attain. I’ve already written a thought piece for our internal news site, supported the development of a proposal for one of our clients, helped a project team develop a case for change, attended a national conference and started on a new strategy project.

What attracted you to Attain?

When planning my move back to the UK from Australia I was determined to join a healthcare consulting firm that reflected my own personal values and that supports the NHS to bring about real, sustainable change that benefits patients. Attain absolutely fits the bill. I wanted to work in a nationally networked team where I can hone my current skills, learn new ones and bounce ideas off people from a variety of professional backgrounds. Attain gives me that.

What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?

The best thing about working with Attain is the opportunity to work every day with exceptionally smart people who take their work seriously. There is a supportive, collegiate atmosphere and we’re all driven by a desire to help the NHS achieve better outcomes for patients.

What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?

I’m excited about my future with Attain and I’m looking forward to supporting our clients to the best of my ability. I can only benefit from working with such a talented team and I’m looking forward to challenging myself, learning new skills and developing my leadership style along the way.
