Scott Parker talks about his background and why he joined Attain

#Tell us a little bit about yourself

I joined Attain in November 2016, having spent the previous four years as a member of the executive team of North Somerset Community Partnership, the NHS community health provider in North Somerset, with responsibility covering strategic development and commercial progression.

My work is underpinned by 12 years’ experience in the commercial sector where I worked in a range of commercial management, commercial strategy and business development roles. I also have extensive expertise in programme design and delivery.

How have your first 30 days been at Attain?

My first 30 days have incredible. The Attain team have been very welcoming and supportive, which has enabled me to settle in quickly. This was particularly helpful as within a couple of weeks I began my first project. This is really rewarding work, exactly the kind of project for which I joined Attain.

What attracted you to Attain?

I was attracted to Attain because of the breadth and quality of its work, along with the underpinning values. Everyone I met during the four stage recruitment process gave me confidence that Attain was true to its values, and the company would offer me an environment where I would be challenged and have the opportunity to develop.

What’s the best thing about being employed with Attain?

I have the opportunity to work on a range of projects which make a real difference for people who use NHS services, it’s really the opportunity to make a difference.

What do you hope the future brings for you with Attain?

I hope to continue to work on a varied range of projects, particularly those which support the delivery of the Five Year Forward View.
