CCG Authorisation

• We work with the CCG to enable them to demonstrate (with evidence) capability to improve care and develop a robust model to carry out its functions in preparation for Authorisation process.

• We tie Authorisation in to the delivery of QIPP objectives.

• This complements the business planning activities as this demonstrates clinical delivery while the business plan outlines commercial components of the CCGs. Our approach enables:

  • Action learning of the commissioning approach

  • Embedding the commissioning culture

  • A basis to access funding quicker

  • Demonstration of capability to improve care

  • Strive for Authorisation from the bottom-up – rather than formulaic top-down tick-box exercise

  • Focus on developing sustainable organisation to achieve – not authorisation in isolation
