Attain has been selected for the National Leadership Council’s CCG Leadership Framework. This is a quality assured framework of providers of leadership development for Clinical Commissioning Groups.
Attain has developed a menu of activities to support the development of CCGs. This supports the creation of a CCG that is patient focused and business minded.
All activities can stand alone or be part of a wider programme of development. We pride ourselves upon our personalised, co-developed and bespoke programmes.
Our delivery team for these interventions is made up of experienced clinicians and health managers dedicated to establishing credible and sustainable CCGs.
This support will enable CCG leaders understand all aspects of leading and managing a commissioning organisation and then to delegate the management functions appropriately. The outcomes of development activities are shown below aligned to the commissioning cycle:

Our approach to providing these activities are grouped under 3 headings:

Organisational Diagnostic: a systematic review of your organisation’s strengths and development needs. Using appropriate tools (e.g. online surveys or deep structured interviews) we will look at areas such as the CCG’s:
The assessment will be systematic and use appropriate frameworks e.g. The National Leadership Framework, RCGP commissioning framework and DoH Diagnostic tool.
Commissioning Cycle: Offer CCGs and associated practice members a ‘plain English’ workshop on the commissioning cycle, the related activities, behaviours, inputs and outputs. This is a good method for ensuring that there is a common understanding and language being used amongst clinicians and managers. This workshop also helps clinicians better understand where they can effectively influence commissioning decisions and add maximum value.
Coaching & Mentoring: This can be 1:1 or team based to provide effective performance coaching and mentoring. Depending upon your availability and preferences, we can provide this face to face or via the telephone / social media.
Board Development: Helping the CCG Board / Senior Clinical team to establish themselves, understand their individual and collective strengths and development needs. Helping the board to establish a shared sense of purpose, direction and priorities for their population. Attain will provide the right balance of support and challenge to enable growth. They will act as a critical friend helping you to develop in real time whilst dealing with real issues. One aspect of board developed offered is observation and debrief of the board in action.
Action Learning Sets: These are facilitated small groups of individuals facing similar issues. They meet face to face to examine real challenges that they are facing and use their collective experience to look at a range of potential problem solving actions. This provides individuals with peer support, confidence and intellectual growth.
Governance: Attain will work with you to design an effective clinical and corporate governance system that focuses upon quality, safety and financial probity. This helps you to protect your population and your organisation. The aim is to establish governance best practice whilst keeping processes focused and as simple as possible.
Action Planning: Following on from the diagnostics, coaching, governance and Board development, Attain will work with you to develop clear action plans, structures, processes and templates to enable your organisation to deliver and create the desired clinical outcomes for your population.
